No sure answer: However cool mist may actually trigger asthma. In general, I have not found any vaporizer to be helpful for asthma. In fact, if the reservoir is not cleaned out thoroughly and regularly you may end up vaporizing mold spores or bacteria in the air. You will be better off by making sure that your daughters have the appropriate medications to control their asthma.

Asthma plan: Reducing post nasal drip with nasal saline rinses and a mild decongestant at bedtime may help alleviate their symptoms. If they have asthma, I would suggest reviewing their asthma plan. Some children will need an inhaled or by mouth steroid during an illness, to control inflammation. A virtual appt is also available online.
