They can be: Fluoxetine is an anti-anxiety, anti-depressant medication that may help mood and anxiety problems that can be common in fibromyalgia. Gabapentin is an anti-convulsant medication that can be used off-label to improve neuropathic pain, which is common in fibromyalgia. So in some patients, together these medications can improve different problems that occur in fibromyalgia.
