Advair and safety : Advair, a combination anti-inflammatory & long acting bronchodilator, is indicated to be used for moderate to severe asthma not controlled by inhaled corticosteroids alone as well as copd. It does have a "black box warning" due to the salmeterol (serevent) component. It is by far the most used chronic asthma/copd medication attesting to it's efficacy and relative safety. Consider risk/benefit.
