Not necessarily.: The number of times you void in a day is not a sensitive indicator of kidney function. Number of voids differs for everyone, & depends on fluid intake, bladder capacity, & sensation of urgency. The common way to assess kidney function is by a blood test called serum creatinine. This value, along with your age, race, & gender are plugged into a calculation called mdrd to estimate renal function.
