Clean area: Rinse well with salt water, be sure to brush and floss well there also even if a bit tender. I would rec that you call the provider's office to determine if you may need an antibiotic. It may also just be post op healing that is tender.

See the dentist or: Endodontic specialist if that's who did your root canal. You may have gingival irritation due to a clamp that was around your tooth or you may have an abcess of sorts. If it's been more than a couple of days, see your doc.
