What to do if i got a root canal two days ago and the only thing that seems to hurt is the area where i got the shots to numb my gums. is this normal?

Normal: Yes, that is normal . The tissue in the area is healing from the puncture of the needle, so it does take time for it to heal. If that is the only "bad" outcome from the root canal, that is a successful treatment and helps to change peoples perceptions of root canals as being the worst possible thing to have done to a tooth.

It is common: Use Motrin or Advil (ibuprofen) OTC for a few days. This will help with any swelling or pain at the injection sites where your anesthetic was administered.
