Depends: No different than meeting other physicians for a first appointment although the focus will be a cardiac issues with specific questions related to the reason you were referred in many instances. More details if poss: Depends on the reason you have been referred to a cardiologist. - You can expect an EKG, physical exam assessing peripheral vascular disease, heart murmurs, carotids etc - If you were referred for concern of ischemia a possible stress ekg or echo, MIBI
