Type 4 immune diseas: We don't know why some people develop this type 4 immune disease. The formal name is delayed hypersensitivity. This is commonly called a rash from poison ivy or nickel. The disease process is the same. Only the cause is different. Certain compounds we are exposed to triggers a reaction by the immune system.
