Can one have a tmd without clicking?

Yes: Clicking typically occurs when the articular disc moves out of its normal position in the glenoid fossa. This does not happen in all cases of tmd.

Yes: One or both jaw joints may click or pop, or neither. Often, if someone has had clicking for awhile and it goes away, this does not mean your tmd is cured. Far from it. You then may suffer locking (closed-limited opening or open lock- can't close.) locking often won't allow the joint to pop or click due to the disk limiting the movement of the joints back into place.

Definitely, yes: For example Disk Displacement without reduction does not cause clicking or popping. Very common.
