TMJ sounds: There is no scientific proof that noise and sound such as clicking in the TM joint lead to disease or dysfunction. Actually, jaw sounds are very common. Jaw noises by itself do not indicate a TMJ disorder and do not warrant any treatment. See orofacial pain specialist for consultation.

Hard to treat: Clicking signifies disk displacement. A hard problem to treat. In rare cases where the popping is so loud to be embarrassing, surgery is an option.
