Hard to say: Typical staging of cirrhosis is by a, b, c and not numbers. There might be another scale that they are using. Liver cancer is associated with cirrhosis. Stages are 1-4. I think that the best way to know is to clarify with the GI doctors to get a clear idea.

Cirrhosis/cancer: fibrosis is scarring, stages on scale of 0-4 or 0-6. at the last stage, it's called cirrhosis - no letters or numbers. people with cirrhosis are at risk for cancer. liver cancer is staged by TNM and indeed can be assigned I-IV - yet in real life no one uses that staging as the underlying liver function and tumor size is much more important in terms of outcome. We use Barcelona staging for that.
