Things to consider. : Your son is 11 years of age and he is due to have a tetanus booster at this age. As for the shin cut, hopefully it was cleaned with hydrogen peroxide and treated with an antibiotic ointment. The best thing to do is to schedule an appointment with his pediatrician or family physician to get his shot and check on his cut.

Clean it well: Your son likely had a tetanus booster at 4-5 or before school entry which should provide adequate basic protection.U can call dr in am & verify (you have ~ 24hrs.) if he was not kneeling in the dirt when cut he is at lower risk.Clean out the cut with soap & water & monitor for swelling, redness or discharge. Have checked if these become troublesome.
