Diet and exercise: Healthy diets are higher in protein than fat/carbs. The best carbs are fresh fruits and vegetables.Meat, fish and beans are good sources of protein, as are yogurt and to a less extent cheese. Limit (not eliminate) sugars and starches. I usually recommend 50% proteins and 25% 3each of carbs and fats with daily exercise for all children. Protein at all meals will help regulate daily blood sugar.
