Calcium needs: An 8yo kid can acquire the calcium they need for normal growth (800mg/day) with 24 oz/day of bovine milk. They could avoid milk altogether & get calcium in things like cheese, yogurt, fortified orange juice or other foods. Tums (calcium carbonate) makes an antacid wafer that would provide 1/2 the calcium needs per wafer.
