A member asked:

What's a reasonable amount of time to expect to be back at pre-pregnancy weight after baby is born?

Dr. Pam Yoder answered

Months if breastfeed: If someone is breastfeeding or pumping for baby, weight often seems to drop fast. If not, then weight loss will occur more gradually, returning to an exercise program also helps but will require approval of the OB if cesarean. For everyone the amount of time to lose the weight also depends on the amount of weight gained. So 1st yr try to eat healthy + burn calories--making milk, walking, playing.
