Health anxiety: Anxiety about one's health is usually a complex condition needing understanding, treatment, and follow-up in several areas. First, your family physician to review your general health and investigate as indicated. Cognitive behavioral therapy (and sometimes certain medications) can be very helpful in dealing with anxiety about physical sensations, & fears of being or becoming sick. A team approach.

CBT: Seek a cognitive-behavioral therapist who specializes in phobias. One method they use is systematic desensitization which slowly and incrementally brings the person closer and closer to the thing they are afraid of in slow, graduated steps that help make the anxiety more tolerable.
