Deep breathing: Deep diaphragmatic breathing is a great way to decrease stress and anxiety. Inhale through your nose to a count of 4-8, hold the breath for a few seconds then exhale slowly. Repeat several times. You should see your abdomen rise on the inhale. Yoga, tai chi, and exercise with a meditation component can be useful. Increasing mindfulness as well can be useful in lowering stress levels.
