I have thrombotic thrombocytopetic purpura and i want to know if its safe to take birth control pills?

Avoid estrogen: Since ttp can sometimes be triggered by estrogen, you should probably avoid combination pills. The 'mini-pill' that has no estrogen might be an option. Talk with your gyn to come up with a safe, effective contraceptive plan.

Agree with Dr. T: IUD would be a better option than birth control pills.
