A member asked:

Could someone tell me how many different kinds of thrombotic thrombocytopenic purpura there is cause i had ttp and i thought there was just 1 kind?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Subtypes: You may have been born with low or poorly functioning ADAMTS13 (Upshaw's), or make an antibody to it, or otherwise have it inhibited, or get a TTP-like illness without a detectable inhibitor or mutation. It's good you're learning about your illness, and it's fortunate your physicians made the call.
