What is thrombotic thrombocytopenic purpura (ttp)?

Platelet disorder.: Ttp is a blood disorder in which platelets form small clots. Formation of these clots uses up so many platelets that platelet count becomes low. The clots can get stuck in small blood vessels and cause damage to red blood cells, causing anemia. Other symptoms of ttp include fever, kidney failure, & neurologic problems. The biological cause of ttp is still uncertain.

It is: It's an immune disorder with destruction of platelets causing large areas of bruising. Organs can be damaged in the process.
