Yes.: Itp in pregnancy is treatable. It does depend on what medications have worked in the past. If the itp has never been treated, there are several options. Steroids are often used in pregnancy. The itp, even if treated in the mom, can cause low platelets in the newborn. This may be of more concern if mom has had her spleen removed or if othersib, inge have had trouble with low platelets at birth.
