Costochondritis: It could be inflammation of the joints where your ribs meet your breastbone (sternum). If indicated and safe, anti-inflammatories such as Ibuprofen are the treatment of choice.

CP: If you had work up for the heart and everything is negative, mthen you should look for other causes. Most likely you may have musculoskeletal pain, which should resolve with Ibuprofen etc.

How accurate is a EKG, blood, and a stress test to rule out heart issues or angina? I'm 26, overweight, healthy but worry my gerd chest pains is my heart. My troponin I levels were < 0.02. My bp is sometimes elevated and heartrate goes down to 53bpm.
My chest x-ray showed mild scarring left lung base. I also have GERD but, recently, it has not been well controlled. I am extremely short of breath, even at rest sometimes. My doctors are stumped after many tests. Do I need to be worried?
