My chest x-ray showed mild scarring left lung base. i also have gerd but, recently, it has not been well controlled. i am extremely short of breath, even at rest sometimes. my doctors are stumped after many tests. do i need to be worried?

Mild scarring left lung base is not the etiology of your shortness of breath (dyspnea). Besides your family doctor, who else has evaluated you for dyspnea. With extreme dyspnea at your age, a full cardiopulmonary evaluation should be done for the etiology. A chest X-ray will not be that helpful. Good luck.
