Ganglion cyst: Sounds like a ganglion cyst. This is a cyst under the skin arising from the sheath of a tendon near a joint or bone prominence. Usually arises from excessive friction or motion in the area. Can get larger and smaller. See a podiatrist. You can find out more.

Where: There are lots of lumps and bumps we can get in the feet. Location and characteristics such as color, size, softness/hardness, pain, etc help make a more accurate diagnosis.

Bursitis or cyst: If you get a bump on your foot that comes and goes it may be either a cyst or bursitis to the area, as these will get larger or smaller depending on the amount of friction and pressure to the area. Protect the area with vaseline when you wear shoes, and if it still doesn't go away, see your podiatrist.
