Rule out Lisfranc: If you have plantar ecchymosis you may or may not have an occult Lisfranc injury. You need to visit an orthopaedic surgeon who specializes in foot and ankle surgery to get imaging and a full history and exam. Fractures, plantar fasciitis, strains and ligament/ muscle tears can all cause pain and bleeding. Visit the correct specialist and you will get the right diagnosis. Good luck.
