Not enough?: Aren't depression and anxiety disorders enough for you? :-) long-term chronic pain can be extremely depressing and debilitating. It drags on you, makes you feel like giving up. Some use drugs or alcohol to self-medicate, which adds yet another layer of pain/complication to deal with. But eventually with treatment, fibro can also lead to extreme & healthy self-care. Tough way to learn, tho'.
