Chronic: The medical problems created by obesity are chronic problems such as diabetes, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, heart disease, cancer, sleep apnea, reflux, difficult pregnancy and arthritis. Treating any one if these diseases is expensive but most obese patients will have more than one of these. The # of obese and overweight people is increasing. So it costs a lot
