A member asked:

What is commonly found on an abdominal sonogram?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Solid organs: Abdominal ultrasound evaluates the gallbladder, bile ducts, liver, spleen, pancreas, kidneys, aorta (the main artery), and inferior vena cava (the main vain). Abnormal intrabdominal fluid collections are also seen. The most common abnormalities are gallstones, kidney stones, and cysts of the liver or kidneys.
