You can't: Most commonly, if ovarian masses are discovered on ultrasound, they are followed at 2-3 month intervals. If they grow over time, your gyn may consider removing them. If they stay stable in size or shrink, they are not malignant. If you have a family history of ovarian (or breast) cancer, or if you have certain genetic markers, your dr. May be more aggressive in removing the ovary.
