Depends on Cause : Low sugar for most however, for some patients with genetic (inherited) causes of elevated triglycerides (tg's) a low fat diet makes more sense. Low sugar diets often have increased fat, and for this small group of patients, can worsen tg's. For most, with obesity and moderate elevations sugar/carb reduction is key. It is important to understand the cause of the elevation. See your doctor.
