Marijuana Effects: On first reading of your question my gut reaction as an expert in marijuana as medicine is to say no. There is no direct correlation between cannabis exposure and kidney strain. Marijuana is a good appetite stimulant, an anti-inflammatory medicine, and it calms the nerves and the GI tract when ingested properly for medical reasons.

Yes, possible: I found a 2004 study relating illicit drug use to mild kidney dysfunction. Creatinine increases were the most pronounced with Cocaine and psychedelics, but were also seen with other drugs -- including marijuana. http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/15042540 increased creatinine is one measure of kidney function -- so the risk of kidney disease is higher for drug-abusing people.

No: I'd look for some other cause. In young folks such as yourself, the most common cause is simply being well-muscled, which is good. Next is probably using NSAIDs, which is reversible.
