No: Liposuction is not for weight loss. It is a contouring procedure ideally for healthy, fit patients close to their ideal weight with stuborn areas that persist. It is incumbent on the patient to maintain a healthy diet and exercise regimen to keep their weight stable or ideally even lose a bit after surgery for optimal results. Patients that are not committed and gain weight are very unhappy.
