Symantics: They are the same. When you say "anxiety disorder" that's more of an "official" diagnosis name.

An anxiety disorder: Is just anxiety that causes significant distress or dysfunction. It's a matter of degree and how you manage the anxiety. Almost everyone has anxiety at times. If it doesn't cause significant problems or interfere with your life, it's not a disorder.
