Harmful: Asthma is a condition of excessive reactions by the airways to irritants or other triggers. Smoking, whatever the product, introduces a variety of irritants into the lung. Some folks may be able to get by with the exposures without bad effects but most will aggravate their asthma & make it harder to control. Same goes for working around dust without a mask, paint fumes, etc.

Yes: Any smoke or toxins can trigger and exacerbate asthma. In fact, any smoke is a huge trigger of asthma and should be avoided at all costs.
