A week or two: For a transcrotal hydrocele repair in an adult, the usual recovery is 1-2 weeks. However, if the wound becomes infected or a hematoma develops, then the recovery can take much much longer. Ice packs, minimal activity and scrotal support will decrease recovery time somewhat.
