Dental visit: It will need to be diagnosed by a dentist. Depending on what exactly you are describing, it may be as simple as an adult cleaning or it may need a different type of cleaning. A full mouth debridement may be advised. If there is bacterial infection and gum disease, scaling & root planing may be advised.

Deep Clean: See your dentist for an exam and a good cleaning to get the calculus (tartar) off. It will not come off with brushing alone. It is calcified plaque, mineral, and food debris that allow colonization of bacteria and will lead to periodontal disease which is bone loss and recession.

Proper care: Teeth filled with tarter won't get properly cleaned without comprehensive profession treatment. That maybe anything from a routine dental prophy to periodontal therapy. Once your teeth are professionally cared for, the responsibility shifts to you to maintain the highest level of home oral hygiene as instructed by your dentist and return on your dentist's suggested time table for professional care.
