It will not fall off. You are in desperate need of a good, professional cleaning. Calculus is full of bacteria which release acid and toxins, slowly destroying the bony support of your teeth. It will cost a lot more to replace those teeth later on than seeing a dentist now. Insurance may not pay for everything, so this is something you need to pay for yourself.

It's called a Calculus Bridge, and it is causing gum damage. It's caused by inefficient Oral Hygiene and must be removed immediately to prevent damage progression. Please see our Dentist for treatment and for a more efficient Oral Hygiene program.

If money is a concern, go to the local dental school to ask for help. Many hygiene student at the dental school needs your cases for fullfilling their academic requirements and they will do a wonderful job. Teeth may be sensitive after the tartar removal but desensitizer (potassium oxalate) can be applied to the area to relieve the pain.
