Yes: This is the only way to know if you indeed have "sugar" problems. If the numbers are high, see your doc for confirmatory tests.

See your doctor: Because glucometers aren't necessarily accurate depending on meter itself and often times testing technique of the patient, best to discuss your concern with your doctor to determine if you need a medical evaluation for diabetes which will also include lab blood tests.
