A member asked:

Is sun or fortified milk better for replacing vitamin d?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Need both: Estimates of vitamin d requirements vary and depend in part upon sun exposure and the standards used to define a state of deficiency. Minimal sun exposure was assumed when the dietary reference intakes for vitamin d were established. The recommended daily allowance for you is 600 international units (iu) of vitamin d per day. It's hard to determine how much of this comes from your sun exposure.
