Inflammed nerve: Burning is often associated with a nerve. You may have a neuroma which is an enlarged portion of nerve. This is often caused by ill fitting shoes or not enough support for your feet. You also may be putting excessive pressure on your metatarsal bones. Is the pain worse with or without shoes. Usually a neuroma is more symptomatic in tight shoes. You will probably benefit from more supportive shoes.
