Nerve irritation: Burning is a sensation most commonly related to nerve sensation. Along the the inside arch, the root of the nerve at this site stems from the lumbar back. Because you state that it keeps you awake at night, determine if any position (laying down, sitting or standing) creates more symptoms. See a podiatrist to have it checked.
