How dangerous is a hematocrit of 24?

1 doctor answer
Dr. Jason Sample
23 years experience in General Surgery
Depends: It is something that should definitely be evaluated. Either you body isn't making enough red blood cells or you are losing them somewhere. The hematocrit of 24 is not a danger on its own. Your body can tolerate a crit that low. You need to be evaluated for the cause, though.
