A member asked:

How come using nasal spray to clear my nose gives me headaches?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Referred pain: Nasal sprays can irritate the nerves in the nose and lead to pain. What is confusing is that often the pain is not felt in the nose but rather in the shoulders, neck, head and ears. This is known as referred pain. Try using an oral decongestant such as sudafed instead.
