Watch for yellow or green drainage, fever, chills, facial pain or swelling. Sinus pressure may cause a headache, but this symptom should be further evaluated. The brown specks could represent dried blood or fungal infection. A sample for culture and a fungal stain may be ordered by your PCP. Nasal saline is often effective in reducing nasal congestion and pressure. Watch for signs of cough.
