How com ethe lymph vessels during lymphadenectomy normally clipped?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Limit Drainage: When removing lymph nodes, it is necessary to cut the small vessels running to-and-from the nodes. These vessels carry fluid that eventually is transported back to the circulation. If we remove just a few nodes (sentinel lymph node biopsy), the drainage is minimal; with extensive lymphadenectomies, the drainage can be a nuisance, requiring prolonged tube drainage. Ideally, the clips may help.
