A member asked:

How effective is a lymphadenectomy for treating colon cancer?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

If C2,very effective: Colon cancer is classified by Dukes staging with B lesions reaching serosa and C1 up to 4 mesenteric nodes and C2 more than 4 nodes. Leaving these nodes beind can be disasterous for the patient. A lymphadenectomy remoing mesentery down to aorta for left sided lesions cand definitely improve survival.
