Rx of Pressure Ulcer: Careful attention to pressure relief and pressure redistribution is the key to treating pressure ulcers. Contact your local wound care center or wound care trained nurses at your local hospital for further suggestions. Sometimes having evaluations by home health nurses is an excellent avenue to assessing pressure redistribution devices.

Pressure relief: Bedsores are from unrelieved pressure. No treatment will work unless the site is free of pressure. Depending on what stage the sore is and if it is infected or if there is necrotic(dead) tissue in will determine further care.. Nutrition, moisture control are also critical aspect of successful healing. Once healed relieving pressure is very important to minimizing future occurrences.

Evaluation : Ideally have someone familiar with the treatment and prevention of bed sores evaluate you. Some sores need surgery. Some just need dressing changes. Some need nothing other than to relieve the pressure that is placed on them
