Depends on the cause: Bloating usually means excess gas or stool in the intestines. Sometimes it means slow emptying of the stomach. Avoiding, or getting rid of, constipation is important. This can be done with lifestyle changes, dietary improvements, otc laxatives, and prescription meds. Lactose intolerance and eating excessive fiber both cause more gas. The doctor can make sure there's not a tumor blocking things.
