Narcotics & pregnanc: It is always advisable to consult with your obstetrician before taking any medication while pregnant. However, most ob's that i know, allow the short term use of hydrocodone. It is inadvisable to take any medications during the first trimester of pregnancy. Unless it's an emergency, even the extraction should be delayed until later in the pregnancy.

Safe or not: Anti-inflammatory medication is contraindicated during pregnancy and during breast feeding. Narcotic medications, like vicoden, are much safer. Consult with your ob/gyn for his/her advice.
