Why might doctors be hesitant to perform surgery on a 29-year-old with herniated discs?

Usually resolves : Good surgeons will not operate on a young person or anyone for that matter unless pain and/or symptoms worsen or the pain is unbearable because the studies show that two years out the surgery and non-surgery patients do equally well. It is best to avoid surgery whenever possible.
